The focus of this year's lecture was on the 2016 Presidential Election, and how it speaks to where the nation is on a multitude of issues including religion. Congressman Emanuel Cleaver welcomed the following panelists: Cornell Belcher, President of Brilliant Corners Research and Strategies; Neera Tanden, President of the Center for American Progress, a public policy research and advocacy organization in Washington, D.C., chaired by John Podesta. Tanden was a major player in the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
