This was our first Member Meeting. We gave attendees an overview of what we have accomplished in the last 100 days plus what we are working on for the next 100!
Despite his pledges that any bill that failed to protect people with pre-existing conditions was a non-starter, Congressman Yoder voted to pass the AHCA (Trumpcare) last Thursday, after limited debate, backroom negotiations, and no CBO score. It's time to hold him accountable for that vote. While we'd like Congressman Yoder to hold a Town Hall to explain his vote and justify the measures in it, he's stated that he believes telephone town halls, where only pre-screened questions are asked, are a more effective way to talk to us, his constituents. Therefore, a town hall was organized, and Yoder was invited. We discussed what's in the AHCA and what it would have meant for Kansans.
