November 15th was National "Thanks, Birth Control" Day. Women and families, who rely on access to affordable birth control, rallied at #HandsOffMyBC events outside of U.S. Health and Human Services offices in five cities: Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Washington, D.C. and Kansas City, MO. Attendees united in solidarity with fellow Americans hurt by President Trump’s dangerous policies and demanded that this administration stop their dangerous attacks on Americans’ reproductive health decisions.
Indivisible KC joined the ACLU of Missouri, ACLU of Kansas, ACLU KU (student chapter), Planned Parenthood Great Plains, NARAL Pro-Choice of Missouri, and Indivisible LFK to denounce President Trump’s executive order that allows employers to remove birth control coverage from their health insurance plans on the basis of religious or moral objection. Thank you to everyone who came out to the event! And ... extra special thanks go out to the Handmaids for braving the chilly winds, our emcee for leading us in several rousing chants, and our panel of inspiring speakers.
