There’s no other way to spin this: the funding bill means more money for ICE and CBP and more families separated by detention and deportation.
Immigrant youth and our families whose lives are at stake cannot support a bill that gives Trump more cash to execute his racist vision of mass deportation.
For decades, both parties have built up the deportation force - let’s remember there are currently 15,000 children in detention camps and 48,747 immigrants jailed. This bill represents the “enforcement-only” status quo that Washington has been stuck in for too long.
Immigrant, progressive and civil rights leaders have made it clear that offering a little less than Trump wants is no way to stand up to him. There is another way forward: we must defund the deportation force and create a pathway to citizenship for undocumented people. It is time for politicians in Washington to catch up.

Scenario Specific Message Guidance:
If Trump Declares A National Emergency to Build the Border Wall and Further Grow the Deportation Force
Trump manufactured a crisis at the border and is shamelessly fearmongering to advance his white supremacist agenda of mass deportation and mass detention.
Trump killed TPS and he killed DACA, putting our families in danger and then killed the clean Dream Act. Trump has mocked Congressional negotiators and has said that the process is a sham. For immigrants, Trump is a dream killer and for Congress, Trump is a deal breaker time and time again.
