Resist from home! Online volunteer positions available
IKC needs people to help us generate talking points and collect research for our weekly Calls to Action and Member of Congress Office Visits. We also need quick, written responses to breaking news events, and deeply researched blog entries to help our members understand complex issues.
IKC has been blessed with talented graphics volunteers over the past year. Two of our original members have recently asked to step away from their responsibilities and we need to find capable replacements. This volunteer role is usually low-key and has longer deadline lead (than say the weekly email). However, there are times when a quick turn-around is necessary. Familiarity with web graphics as well as printing requirements will be most useful!
Resist in person
IKC has been so busy resisting we have been slow to welcome in all new volunteers in a timely way. This position would be for someone who is innately organized, and can get to know new IKC volunteers (through email, phone, and/or in-person meeting), and connect them with the right IKC action team.
Office Visit Facilitator
IKC began the resistance last year hosting office visits at all area Congresspersons’ district offices. There may be an opportunity to renew office visits as we continue to target issues and specific representatives. We need someone who can train quickly with one of our experienced office leads and then take the reins to make it their own. At a minimum, a facilitator would have to schedule the visits with the office staff, greet participants, make sure to take attendance, facilitate productive discussion with office staff and write a brief summary for weekly email / web blog.
IKC needs people who can assist with planning and running special events, which might be member meetings, educational advocacy, rallies or citizen town halls. Tasks change with each event, depending on collaborating organizations. It could be as varied as scouting locations, handing out programs, supplying cookies, running the live-stream or directing / parking traffic.
IKC needs help maintaining our website, leading Get-Out-The-Vote efforts, tracking what's going on with our partner groups and Indivisible National, and much more! We need you!
